Drive Damper - GM 14"
Heavy Duty Drive Damper for GM 5.7, 7.4 (big block) Recommended for applications from 300-400 HP 14" Flywheel (does not fit the older 12 3/4' flywheels) Has 26 tooth spline for common 1:1 Borg-Warner and ZF transmissions. This is the 8 spring (not 6 spring) damper with HD Purple Springs.
Not for Fords or older GM with 12 3/4" Flywheels (Special cutting to reduce diameter for Modified Fords available on request when time allows)
SYMPTOMS: Strange rattling, metallic sounds coming from the back of your engine, worse at idle, This is the typical symptom of a drive damper going bad. It is also recommended to replace the drive damper whenever a transmission is replaced. Catastrophic failure follows if left "rattling".
Actual diameter of this damper is 13 3/16"
ALWAYS use Loktite on bolt threads when re-installing.
WILL NOT work with PCM 40 transmissions with 15 tooth spline input shaft.
